課程概述 |
• This course is an upper-level course on phonetics.
• We will cover two areas: applied phonetics and laboratory phonology.
• Class each week begins with a lecture, followed by a practical session (lab/tutorial).
• Prerequisite: Phonetics I |

課程目標 |
By the end of the semester, you should be able to:
• design phonetic experiments using instrumental methods
• perform simple statistical analyses on experimental data collected to test a phonetic hypothesis
• write a scientific report on the results, and
• apply the phonetic knowledge acquired in daily life and your future career. |

課程要求 |
Ground Rules
a) Attendance on the first day is mandatory. This course does not offer an audit option.
b) Audio-recording, photo-taking, and live streaming are prohibited in class.
c) Do the assigned readings before class. You are responsible for knowing what is due when.
d) Please include the course name and keywords in the subject line when sending email. Also, make sure that you sign appropriately at the end of the email.
e) Late work will not be accepted.
f) Zero tolerance for plagiarism.
g) If you can not attend a class and do not want to lose points for being absent, you must provide written proof AND take official leave in advance. If an assignment is due, you must turn in your work before the scheduled date.
h) If you have particular demands, let me know as soon as possible so that I can make proper accommodations. |
